Mark Wagner

I was introduced to this man's work by my design teacher.  I instantly fell in love with his collages.

REQUIEM FOR THE AMERICAN DREAM KickStarter campaign. The filmmakers at PF Pictures... makers of "Money is Material" ... are raising funds to complete an eye-opening documentary on and with Noam Chomsky. I am thrilled to provide artwork for the film. Please contribute to the campaign today!

All of his designs consist only of cut up dollar bills.  Carefully thinking out the layout of every piece of the dollar bills he uses, Mark Wagner shows that he possesses amazing skills.  He has made collages that are portraits of people such as Abraham Lincoln, Ben Franklin, and Chuck Close (King of Portraiture).  Portraits were among his first works.  My favorite of his portraits was that of the Money Lisa...

                             Money Lisa
Everyone of course knows the famous Mona Lisa painted by the Renaissance artist, Leonardo da Vinci.  Using the darker parts of the dollar bills, Wagner is able to place the shadows properly to create an abstract version of the original.

I visit Wagner's site often to see what his newest projects and notables are.  I would encourage you to do the same to understand his talents and experience his amazing work.
